Kitchen Reno June 2011

Well, I waited a looooong time to get a new kitchen and it is finally coming together.
The doors to the cabinets went on last night. The countertops will be in place tonight and
then the floor will go in tomorrow..AAGH...
I AM SO EXCITED!  I can hardly wait to sit at the kitchen table again for meals!!

Spring has finally arrived in Red Deer!  Unfortunately, even without hot temps, the mosquitoes are already out..and they are BIG!! AAAGH..
Anyhow, we all got involved in yard work. Last week, the boys and I raked out the leaves from the flowerbeds and trimmed the old growth away.Looks really good. And yesterday, Glen did the dethatching on the front and back lawn...awesome job...Brandon followed the dethatching by using the regular mower to pick up the thatch...another dusty, allergy prone activity that I am glad I didn't have to do!  Brandon did a great job!
I am busy as a bee on Etsy, making some pillows for a customer in Australia! I have stamped on some cotton twill material and will hopefully get to sewing the pillow cover up today. Here is a picture of the fabric after stamping:

A French-inspired piece of work..most stamps are from my Tim Holtz stamps.

Today is the last day of March and we still have tons of snow left to melt here in Red Deer!
But thankfully, it IS melting...lol  
My Mom is hopefully getting out of the hospital this weekend after having bypass surgery 2 weeks ago. All is going good, but still keeping my fingers crossed that her recovery will not have any surprises in store.
On a very sunny and hot note...All 5 of us are leaving this sunday, April 3rd for 10 days in Arizona! We are staying a week in Phoenix and then heading to the Grand Canyon area for a fun weekend! Maybe even a plane ride over the Grand Canyon..I will post some pics when we get back(after April 12th)

Today is the first day of posting for me...YEA!! Today is a really cold day here, -23C .Yikes. I will have to bundle up today. I posted some more cards on my Etsy shop yesterday. See above. I like how they turned out, kind of shabby and fun at the same time. Love it.
